Taranaki High Schools Tech Academy (for school students in years 12 and 13)
Be part of a team of 20 high school students learning the skills and doing the mahi of designing, developing and launching a real-world software project.

One day per week at Learner Me during the 2nd and 3rd term.

At Learner Me, you don’t just learn theory, you apply those learnings directly into developing real-world tech projects and doing so with industry professionals as your facilitator.
In the Taranaki Tech Academy, you’ll spend one day a week away from school at the Learner Me New Plymouth campus. You’ll be a crucial member of a team of 20 fellow high school students who together will gain experience and industry-relevant skills as you bring a working tech project to life.
HOW IT WORKS
2nd and 3rd terms of the year are devoted to developing your technical skills.
You’ll learn all the different roles involved in developing a new tech solution and have the opportunity to specialise in a role of your choosing. These roles include:

Applicants will go through an interview process before confirming their place in the Academy.
OUTCOMES
You’ll earn up to 15 NZQA credits at Level 3 (School Year 13). The experience you’ll gain and skills you’ll learn will be a perfect building block for a future career in the tech sector.
